I think it’s always been obvious George doesn’t watch the movies that often, which is fine after living them for so many years. I don’t think I’ve actually heard his real voice before, initially it made me laugh because I thought he was taking the piss. You reminded me and save me the hassle all in one go.

I've been meaning to look these interviews up for ages ever since the dvd was released. Tell that to Sebastian Shaw, the first dead actor in the history of movies to be replaced!Īuthor see you auntie Time 2 7:44 PM Post link The story and characters of the original trilogy are always going to be the same, the films haven't really been "ruined" unless you're going nitpick and be caught up with things that shouldnt really matter. he doesnt have to do anything because nothing is technically wrong! It just sucks for people like us haha.Īuthor CO Time 2 6:57 PM (Edited) Post link Owen-Lars-Kenobi said: Anyways, considering this information, its much easier to apreciate his opinion on releasing original versions or correcting mistakes. I dont exactly enjoy shifty CGI effects invading my childhood memories, but they arent really the biggest deal beacsue they arent actually changing anything about the intent of the film (only individual scenes are effected). Don't get me wrong, these "things" really tick me off too (oh how eagerly I await ESB revisited), but Lucas is a family man (gotta respect that), and he has more important tings than messed up lightsaber effects to worry about when the films still work 99% well. its just important to people like us who are endlessly pissed off about these sorts of things. All the coulor problems and things like the blue tint aren't really important to the story, or the way the film works. You see, Lucas seems to like "movies" in a very "average joe" kind of way. and it fully explains the 2004 alterations IMO. If he only watches his movies once every 5 years or so, there is no way in hell he could possibly catch all these nitpick sorta things that people catch in his films. Honestly, this interview confirmed what I've thought about Lucas for a very long time: he's not "evil", he's just an average guy (with a creative mind). The Hoth battle oen was hard to get, but how could he not get Cloud City? That's easily one of the most recognizable tunes, IMO, because it stands out.Ī Goon in a Gaggle of 'em Author Owen-Lars-Kenobi Time 2 6:48 PM Post link It will be better than the original and fit his original vision." - skyjedi2005 Author bkev Time 2 4:48 PM Post link "Now all Lucas has to do is make a cgi version of himself. Even the prequels are very good if I were to base them on their music alone. The music in the original trilogy was perhaps the most important feature, after likable characters, which made it so great. That's kind of sad.Ī Goon in a Gaggle of 'em Author Tiptup Time 2 5:03 AM Post link bkev said: Oh man, I knew where the music were and he didn't.
